Summer 2012

Hey everybody!!  I'm ready to start blogging and talking about the new books you are reading this summer.  Has anyone tackled one of the books on the summer reading list you made?  If so, let us know what you think!  I think I'm going to start with True...(sort of) by Katherine Hannigan.  I liked the cover, so I thought I would give it a try.  I look forward to keeping in touch with you all!  Talk to you soon!

Summer 2011

Hey Surfers! I just returned from my favorite place - the beach of course! While I was there I read four books!!! I was in my happy place :) I read one adult book and 3 books for kids which were, Notes from a Dog by Gary Paulsen, Mockingbird, and Chasing Lincoln's Killer. You can find them on my bookshelf. They were all very different but good reads. Now I'm working on a book for teaching reading. Lots of different genres! I look forward to reading about your summer reading adventures soon! Happy Summer!!!!

At the top of the website you can click on Readers by Age and choose the category that fits you to find a list or suggestions of great books. You can also click on Kids Recommend to find out what kids your age think is fun to read. Finally, there is a place to click to find other websites about reading. Let me know what you think about the website or post your thoughts about any other website you find that might be fun for all of us. Later~~~

New Series

Hey Readers,

I was surfing around the Barnes and Noble website and noticed a series I had not heard of before. It is called the 100 Cupboards Series. I put the first three books on my Shelfari Bookshelf on the blog, so you can check out the short summaries. It looks pretty cool, and on the B&N website, it said that if you liked The Red Pyramid, you would like this series. I guess I'll have to purchase those books for my library. Let me know what you think about the story when you are reading it.

We need to keep each other posted about new books that you find and those long awaited sequels - like The Maze Runner sequel. I can't wait to find out what happened to all those kids. The first book I'm going to read this summer is The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan. I know many of you have read it, so I'm anxious to tell you what I think and read your replies. Finally, I'll post your recommendations on my bookshelf so everyone can browse the online library when you are looking for something new to read. Happy Reading!!

Hey Readers! I know some of you are reading this summer (at least a little). I am almost done with Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Russell and I have been reading it together. I love it when I re-read books because I always pick up on new details and events that I missed before, especially in those looonnnngggg books like Harry Potter. I'm about to start a new one called The Calder Game. I'm leaving for the beach in two days and hope to start that on my vacation. I'd love to hear what y'all are reading or would like to read. I'm shopping for my classroom library and picking up some new books. Any requests for next year?
